I don't know how the hell you're cheerful about that.

[He, on the other hand, is muttering. Nothing phases the Iotian. Garrus wouldn't sacrifice individuality for the calm, though. Especially when sometimes he's not sure if it's real, or just Pilot deciding things are fine because they must be fine and ignoring reality.

But it gives Pilot peace. And considering the state of mind a lot of people will be in as Macha continues, that's a good thing.]

[He's not sure why, but it had helped a little to have Pilot come by.]

Admittedly, he doesn't feel the pain you're going through - so he can only be sad for you. But he tries to be cheerful about life, about everything- because why not be? What purpose is served by being cynical or morose?

[It's his philosophy and he'll stick to it.]

Some cynicism is healthy. You're more wary. Don't fall for the same things other people might. But morose...
