Anyone can sound like they are. Talking a good game is pretty easy. It's the doing that's more of a challenge.
[Camp's in sight now, and Garrus repositions one of the guns he's got slung over his back. They can probably feel safe, now. Most of the windlife right next to camp had moved out or already been eaten.]
We'll see how passionate you stay, yeah? And how valiant I wind up being.
[ The expression on Red's face softens with those words, a feeling almost like a block in his chest coming shortly forward. Passionate, here, in this place - he doesn't have the confidence for that. What is there to be passionate about? But he doesn't want to say anything like that, beyond what the small silence between Garrus's last words and his own may say for him. ]
[ He examines it in Garrus's hold, then putting out his hand to take it if the turian will offer it up to him. ]
I think so. I just need it to sharpen the end of some wood into a point. [ A certain thick piece of wood, with Red looking across to the basket with the branch sticking out of it and its leaf and twigs. It appeared straight enough for what he wanted... ]
Yeah, go for it. I've got a couple of others, and worse comes to worse I just have to spend some time sharpening one. Don't have a whole lot of demands on my time.
[He follows Red's gaze, a little more curious now.]
Um... kind of like a spear I guess. [ Ding ding ding. There's a beat, and Red's head shifts slightly as if he's about to look Charizard's way but doesn't. ] We met a guy and we accidentally broke his, so... I wanted to make him a new one.
[ There's a low growl from Red's side, and Charizard looks away. Biggest guilty party. ]
[Garrus can barely keep back a snicker. The guilt practically radiates off Charizard with the way he's looking off to the side.]
Yeah, that's fine. I could even teach both of you how to sharpen something, after. In case one of you really wanted to make reparations. How about you take the knife, make the spear, give the guy it, and then come find me again and I'll teach you about getting blades sharp?
Okay, sure. [ That sounds like a good deal, but there's something curious there that he sure he heard that surprises him. ] But, you want to teach Charizard too?
[ He does have a pretty good grip for a dude with no thumbs, it's true. ]

By the way - do you have a sharp knife?
[ look at that change of subject. ]

Somewhat sharp.
[Bending, Garrus opens up one of the leg compartments in his armor before pulling out one of his throwing knives.]
Will this do?

Making something specific?
[A spear, maybe?]

But I can sharpen it after if you tell me how to.
