The only concern is couching it in terms that mean we don't then have to deal with the CDC. And yeah. Reapers had a homeworld. They were created on a world we call Despoina.

Species called the leviathan wanted to find a way to eliminate pain from their lives. Created the first reaper to solve that. It came back with its solution - if they were dead, no more pain.

Gotta wonder if those cautionary tales are leftovers. Things tucked away in the galaxy's subconscious, aware of how easy it could be to make more of these things.
