We need some sort of something. PKN7 isn't going to cut it. It'll turn out people who have general fitness and some field capability, but the hard things on this field are emotional. Moral. Internal.

They need to know how to shoot, but they need to know how to deal with the shooting, too.
ambers idea was a step in the right direction. the only problem is, do people wanna learn how to deal with it? cant exactly force it on 'em if they arent interested.
We can't. And there are some who won't learn. Who will refuse, because they wanna sit around and play civilian.
[Chidori. And it's entirely possible there are others.]

Really don't know what to do there, and we're all gonna regret that sooner or later. Amber had a good start. Think I made progress with the one I worked with. But there's gotta be a way to build on it.

I'll think on it. See what I can come up with. Maybe some sort of simulation, when we get back to the ship, but that also takes willingness.
I sympathize with them, but I'm not empathizing. We've lost a lot. Capable people, people who were novices, all of it. If everyone could hold their ground more, the number would be lower.

We're watching their backs. Don't mind doing that. Personally find it pretty fulfilling. But if they watch their own backs a little too, makes our job a billion times more likely to succeed.

Is anyone in this mess actually okay? Seriously asking here, because I'd like to hear that someone is.

Low bar, when 'alive' is about all that can be said. But I understand. Been a long approximate year, hasn't it.

It does its best, doesn't it. Think we could use setting the bar higher, though. We've got a lot of people who know what to do on the field.

Only problem is that if we get this group up to speed, as soon as we get another we'll be back where we started.

If only this had been after his Armada talk...

Not expecting it to ever be easy. I'd just like a higher success rate. Fewer losses.

Fewer inexplicable punishments out of nowhere.
[Because they followed their orders.]
