My people are militaristic. We're all trained from fifteen to serve in the military in some way. It's pretty effective. Means that even if you're not particularly skilled in anything, you've got a job. A profession.
And for the rest of us it's a good jumping - off point. We build from there. Duty is pretty important too. Duty and service.
Not really. Back home I have the rank that I know what the motivation behind any order is, the bigger picture, all of that. It's a little rough to be a raw recruit all over again. Still finding my footing.
There are some homeless. Not many. They've got resources to help them, so if they stay jobless it's actually a choice.
I shot people, made plans for shooting more people, set up resource routes, set up defensive perimeters and other measures, allocated resources, basically, a lot of stuff.
Our young are adults at 15. I think it's different for humans. But once you're an adult, you worked. Duty and responsibility are pretty big things for turians.
Omega. Mining space station that became more. Much more. It's a place for the worst scum of the lot to gather, and for those who have hit rock-bottom to fall.
You don't understand my people or my culture. There's a heavy weight of responsibility for each person we put away. We make sure we're doing the right thing.
The scum ends up on Omega because there aren't any laws there. Gangs moved in. They can do business there, safely. Except while I was around.
I'm not saying we don't make mistakes. But I'm saying there are a lot of safeguards in place, and our people know how to do their jobs.
C-Sec errs on the side of caution. Sometimes too much caution. People wind up getting away who shouldn't. But that keeps others from being wrongfully arrested or harmed.
I'm not some movie character. I did what needed to be done.
Someone important to me, someone who had changed the game in the galaxy, died. She was no longer making a difference, so I needed to step up. Make double the difference.
Easiest place to do that was where the slavers, drug dealers, and other lowlifes felt safe. Hit them where it hurt, do the most damage. And it worked.
[He's not touching on the friend either. She got better after dying. It was a strange time in his life.]
Not sure what a pimp is. Omega was a high traffic area for stolen goods and selling drugs and slaves. Still is. Even I couldn't completely disrupt it. If I had, they would have set up shop elsewhere.
I do what I can. Nobody's perfect. But anyone can work to change things.

Advisor to the Primarch on Reaper Affairs was the title. A lot of words to basically say I talk and do and some things get done.
Jobs, temp housing for as long as they work at those jobs, giving them a chance to save up and do something with their lives.
no subject

do turians age the same way as humans? i dont think most human kids r ready for that at 15. i mean they can b but not always
no subject
No. Not an assassin. I take out criminals, the bad guys, and not for a profit. No civilian casualties. Green.
We mature faster. Maybe it's a cultural thing, maybe it's a species thing. I don't really know. Similar lifespans, though.

so ur police. whats turian prison like?
i started working at 13 so who knows. what was ur 1st job?
no subject
I worked C-Sec. Citadel Security. Police force for the largest space station we have. Couldn't take a step without tripping over red tape.
no subject
thats what u get 4 working where lots of ppl r watching. cops in south side can do whatever the fuck they want
no subject
Yeah, well, I went and did whatever the fuck I wanted elsewhere. Did a damn good job of it, too.
no subject
so what sad corner of the universe is ur south side
no subject
If you're sloppy, sure. We're not sloppy.

I made it better. For a time.

why does all the scum end up in omega? is it where all the workers live

[Back in her rover, Fiona silently chastises herself. Stop making such a big deal of this.]
