You're fine. It's not like the Blackglass is some sort of neural implant; I can ignore it if I need some rest.
And no. I haven't. Haven't seen him on the Observation Deck at all either, and he stands out, but I figured he was being reculsive. You message him yet?
Softer than a turian, even if you're still all angles.
[Ryan's tall and scrawny, and Garrus actually does like that. But he has a priority, and he can't even begin to expect Noh to keep that a little in mind if he lets his own focus slip. ...Except there's possibly a way to mitigate both risks. The risk of Ryan being more hurt than he's letting on, and the risk of Noh starting something with just Ryan.]
You said both. And casual. You're sure about casual?
[Because it could also raise the risk of losing the Kree and this whole week has brought him closer to feeling like he's balanced on a knife edge than ever before.]
Don't think he'd be that obstinate, but yeah. Giving him a text.
[About fifteen minutes later:]

No answer yet. And protheans have very short sleep cycles, pretty much none at all except when seriously injured or ill. Give him a half-hour. Then if neither of us have heard from him, we call it.
[The answer is a little delayed. Garrus has the same questions. Has any other team lost two? And Javik isn't even just Leapfrog, he's Normandy and that makes it even worse. Somehow, despite all they're doing, he's failed both groups.]
FROM: vakarian.garrus@cdc.org
I don't know, d'Artagnan. People know to partner up but they're not doing it, and short of tying them together we can't make them stay with people.
FROM: vakarian.garrus@cdc.org
All we can do is what we've been doing, and it still isn't enough. Somehow we're not doing enough even though we're giving orders and we're everywhere.
FROM: vakarian.garrus@cdc.org
I've seen you out there. Figure you've seen me. We've been everywhere turianly possible.
FROM: vakarian.garrus@cdc.org
Turianly, humanly. Personly. And it's not making a difference.
I've got combat and healing skills and nothing that's helping my own team right now. I just wanted to let you know that if Green's stretched thin, I plan to be keeping an eye on Medical anyway.
We are stretched thin on a ship of this size. And we've got a post we're setting up in Medical, so you'd be welcome to join. Appreciate the checking in.
A bit of both. My people value strength and survival. But the Empire I serve has no place for those who can't hold their own. Either you do your part or you die. I'm not terribly keen on dying.
Only the strong survive the Empire. And then the strongest are killed in the power struggle. A grey area for these people would force them to hold compassion for anyone but themselves.
You're Green. We need you. Body parts have been found and we need to shorten off-shifts. There a spot you'd prefer? Because Medical and Observation are the main ones and they could use more.
[There's a weighted pause as John considers what Garrus has said. Its not often he meets someone who is familiar enough with being careful enough to speak around the actual subject in hand without necessarily changing the subject.]
I didn't. Sure did see that giant ball runnin' folks over though. Would've preferred the races.
[He scratches at his neck and sighs.]
Anyway, I don't want to take up too much of your time. But keep in touch, if you find it.
Runs it. The Empire is a hierarchy and although the Emperor is above all else, powerful, ruthless, and heartless Force users (ie Sith) pull all of the important strings.
FROM: kallig.telumi@cdc.org
Believe me, the compassion here is overwhelming in comparison to the Empire. The unit leaders seem to actually care about those in their charge.
